TAW College for Women is founded on the enduring legacy of Janab Alhaj T. Abdul Wahid Saheb and is dedicated to empowering women through education. A visionary entrepreneur and philanthropist, Mr. T. Abdul Wahid significantly uplifted the community of Ambur Town with his remarkable contributions to education, politics, and business. As a former Member of Parliament and one of India’s leading exporters of leather and dress shoes, he was a pioneer in promoting a women-centric workforce, fostering inclusivity and progress within his factories. Mr. Wahid played a pivotal role in shaping and nurturing several educational and charitable institutions, including the Muslim Educational Association of Southern India (MEASI), the Southern India Education Trust (SIET), and the Anjuman-e-Himayath-e-Islam (AHI). Under his visionary leadership, these institutions flourished reflecting his vision of progress, inclusivity, and educational excellence.
Under the aegis of the T. Abdul Wahid Charitable Foundation, the current Managing Trustee, Janab T. Rafeeq Ahmed Saheb, continues to uphold and expand the enduring legacy of his esteemed father. TAW College for Women is a continuation of the strong foundations established by the T. Abdul Wahid Matriculation School, renowned for its exceptional infrastructure and consistent academic achievements, including outstanding board examination results year after year. TAW College for Women graciously carries forward this legacy, aspiring to become a distinguished institution for Arts and Sciences. The college is committed to fostering knowledge, ensuring stability, and preparing the students for making a positive impact on her family and society.
At TAW College for Women, we believe in providing holistic education that blends academic excellence with the development of critical thinking and creativity. Our interdisciplinary programs integrate practical skills with theoretical knowledge, equipping students to excel in their chosen fields.
Our experienced faculty, comprising dedicated educators and industry professionals, bring real-world expertise into the classroom, enhancing the learning experience.
To further support our graduates, a dedicated Placement Cell assists students in securing prominent roles in the commercial and industrial sectors, ensuring a seamless transition from academic life to professional success.
The purpose of establishing an exclusive Women’s College in Ambur is to enable young girls to pursue higher education after their 12th board exams. We are dedicated to offering the highest academic standards in a safe and well-equipped environment. In the coming years, we plan to expand our course offerings to provide broader opportunities for students. We have sufficient land to build the necessary infrastructure. Our objective is for our female students to thrive and succeed in their undergraduate studies, continue onto postgraduate studies, or seek employment opportunities online or offline. We also emphasise giving our students the very best in technology and skill training to become confident and knowledgeable individuals who can easily fit into leadership roles, be it in corporate environments or their own businesses. We also imbibe ethical and moral education to our children as they will represent the future of our community and will, in turn, instil the same values to their families while moving forward.
